Terms of Use
1. The service
Reverse Phone Number Lookup provides free informational lookups of public telephone-numbering data: registered locations, carriers of record, line types, time zones and complaint history. By using the site you accept these terms.
2. Permitted use
Personal, informational use: identifying unknown callers, verifying numbers you interact with, research and education. Reasonable individual use is free and requires no account.
3. Prohibited uses
- FCRA-covered decisions: Reverse Phone Number Lookup is not a consumer reporting agency. Using it for employment, credit, insurance, or housing/tenant screening decisions is prohibited and violates federal law. See the FCRA disclaimer.
- Stalking, harassment or intimidation of any person, in any form.
- Bulk scraping or resale of the site's compiled data files or systematic automated querying beyond personal use. (The underlying public datasets are available from their sources — NANPA, FTC, libphonenumber — use those.)
- Misrepresentation: presenting lookup results as government records or as identity verification.
4. Accuracy — what public data can and cannot promise
Results reflect public numbering records at the time of our last data refresh. Number portability means a line's current provider may differ from its carrier of record; mobile locations reflect issuance, not the owner's whereabouts. The service is provided "as is", without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for any purpose. Never make consequential decisions on a lookup result alone.
5. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Reverse Phone Number Lookup and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from use of the site or reliance on its results. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the service.
6. Intellectual property
Site design, text and compiled presentation are ours. Underlying numbering data belongs to the public record (NANPA/FTC) and to Google's libphonenumber project (Apache 2.0) — our thanks to both.
7. Changes & contact
Terms may be updated with the effective date above. Questions: [email protected] or the contact page.
